Travel Souvenir Ideas
Published Thursday, December 12th 2019 - Updated Thursday, December 12th 2019Have you ever been on vacation and seen the thousands of options for souvenirs and wondered what to get? Getting everything that is cute or that you like could get expensive and then when you get home, you have no clue where to put them.
As a travel agent, I love to travel and have collected many souvenirs over the years, but only in the last several years, have I decided to collect specific items from each of my travels. Currently, I collect ornaments and seashells.

Christmas ornaments are my newest collection. It is so fun to search for the perfect ornament and such a small item that is easy to bring back home with me. I also LOVE to decorate my tree and reminisce over all my travels.
I also do a picture frame ornament for each year. I love being able to see how we have changed over the years. Also, they are really nice if I forgot to grab an ornament from a trip or wasn’t able to find one.
If you do decide to collect ornaments, remember that you can also hang key chains on your tree. They are also easy to pack and take home and are often easier to find than Christmas ornaments.
The other items I collect are seashells. This is something I have collected since high school and have loved seeing the difference between shells in different locations. I obviously only get seashells from the travels that take me to beaches. I have shells from several places in the U.S., from the Mediterranean Sea in Israel and from Scotland.
Other ideas of items to collect:
- Magnets (you could get a cool metal wall hanging to put them on if you don’t want to clutter up your fridge)
- Coins (put them in a frame with a picture of you on your trip)
- Airplane tickets (tape them into a notebook, or something like this)
- Coffee mugs
- Shot glasses
- Playing cards
- Local art
What do you collect from your travels?
