When I was in elementary school, I fell in love with event planning. My dad took me to help set up for an event he was planning, and from there I was hooked!

In high school, I wrote papers on my chosen career path. In college, I volunteered to help plan and work events for every student organization I was involved in. I completed several internships. All in the hopes that my experience and my knowledge would land me my dream job. Then in May of 2014, it happened! I got the job! I was planning events and doing public relations and actually getting paid to do it! It was like a dream!

From there, I went on to a couple other positions, planning events and doing public relations for five years. In the meantime, I got married, finished my master’s degree, bought a house, and rescued my dog, Molly.  As my fifth year was coming to an end, I started realizing that as much as I loved planning, researching and sorting out details, the long hours away from home were not sustainable if I wanted to prioritize my family over my job.

So I started praying… and praying… and praying…

And God worked!

For a couple of years, I have been contemplating becoming a travel advisor. And through some pretty miraculous interventions by God, some of which were uncomfortable, painful, and miserable to go through, He showed me that it was time. It was time to let go of my steady income, my comfy desk chair and my yearly events and use those skills and talents for something else. He wouldn’t even allow me to consider any other option. I had to become a travel advisor and He showed me every step I needed to take on the way.

So here I am today! I have a franchise with Cruise Planners and am a full-service travel advisor. I am married to my amazing adventure buddy and we now get to spend more time together, traveling the world!

Being a travel advisor incorporates everything I loved about event planning: doing a ton of research, constantly learning the in’s and out’s of the business, planning, organizing, coordinating, and building relationships. I still get to see the joy and excitement on clients faces and know that my job was done well. And something I didn’t get with event planning, is that I am helping families making memories that will last a lifetime!

Follow along on the adventure! I can assure you it will be a wild ride!
